Electron Beam Welding Services

KTI, Inc. (part of the KTI group of companies) has electron beam welding services that can accommodate large and small components. We achieve superior control over depth of penetration, weld dimensions, and other properties. Electron beam welding can join together most materials, while producing welds that are deeper, narrower, and less tapered than conventional welding processes.

Our electron beam welding facilities include large chambers measuring up to 7.5' in diameter x 16' long, serviced by 3 ton cranes. In house testing capabilities include sectioning, etching, microscopic evaluation, helium leak detecting, and hardness testing. We also possess the ability to stress relieve parts up to 6’ in length.

To better meet the needs of our clients, we have developed strategic alliances with other complementary service shops. These include machining, alternative weld processes, and non-destructive testing.

KTI, Inc. can handle full project and supply chain management for a wide range of components. In addition, our well-equipped shop possesses a variety of machining capabilities that complement our welding services.

Our internal materials engineering staff works closely with UCONN, MIT, and other universities on collaborative projects that incorporate laboratory testing, and analysis services. Patentable processes and designs are part of our ongoing commitment to innovation.

KTI, Inc. has mechanical and metallurgical engineering staff who can offer expertise and assistance in weld joint design and material selection.
